Description

This course will examine the various types of deviance in society. The course will consider different sociological theories and philosophies that attempt to explain the definitions, prevalence, emergence, and disappearance of different deviant acts over time. The course will study society's attempts to control, change, and institutionalize the behaviors, individuals, or groups that a population may deem unacceptable. Pre-requisite: EN 101 Freshman English I. Lecture: 3 hours per week.
