Description
An introductory study of microorganisms. Principles of structure, metabolism, and genetics of microbes, are considered within a clinical framework. Application of basic principles focuses on medically important microorganisms, their transmission, and mechanisms of pathogenicity. Laboratory includes basic techniques for the study, enumeration, and identification of bacteria, clinical applications, and disease case studies.
